because I am a beneficent mother, and because there are battles not worth fighting, that I will no longer make socks for my daughter. Instead, I will make for me and share freely.
Hey, her feet are only going to keep growing for a few more years and mine have stopped. Why make more socks for her to grow out of when I can make them all in my size and we can both wear them? Then, by the time she goes off to college, I will have enough, in the proper size, to send her off with.
What say you?

I think you have made a very wise decision! :-)
:)
alternately she could knit socks for you and share ...
I'm with Penny. I think you should both knit socks. You could take over a great amount of the clothes storage space.
I clicked on the previous picture to see what was on her wrist and am just amazed at what a young woman she is becoming. Lots of difference between this new smiling young person and the grinning one in the boat on your header. /sigh
I say thou art wise and beneficent. (Although I've noticed sometimes a teen likes to have socks of her own as well as to raid the supply of momsocks.)
I think you need to knit another pair for your brother, who wore his during his sick day yesterday!
I say you are a madly generous woman ... or, YOUR daughter is kinder to socks than mine. I thought I'd share, but she's rough on things. She wears socks outside without shoes!
I too am with Penny. She too should knit socks. Then you both share the results of your mutual sock knitting efforts.
That makes a lot of sense, it's a great idea.
Such a wise Mama.
