We went for a breakfast ride this morning to our new favorite breakfast spot, the Red Hook Fairway. It has a nice patio in the back where you can sit and eat while enjoying the view of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. The sun was shining and the temperature perfect for riding in shorts and tee shirts.
After dispensing with our baked goodies and beverages, we tried to find an esplanade that was just a bit further off from Fairway. We apparently overshot it but did find the Brooklyn Ikea so we are now planning some summertime lunch rides for Swedish meatballs.
The weather was lovely, the streets practically traffic free and we were all happy to be alive. It was a good ride!

Wow Red Hook sounds nice. The first time I read Red Hook in one of your posts I immediately thought of upstate near Kingston, but I knew you didn't bike that far in one day LOL. Okay, okay, I'm blonde LOL. Hopefully I'll make it down this summer. Well actually I will I promised my niece a trip to NYC in August. I'll have to check out that Red Hook.
Hugs!!!!
funny we were there later in the afternoon, but came via auto this time. we finally put proper air in the bike tires so maybe we'll get on them one day soon.
{hugs}
What a nice change from the adventures on Friday!
The Mighty Team Squid are always an inspiring sight. If you ever go over the bridge and cross paths with a cute red-headed first-grade teacher bicycling around Brooklyn, be sure and tell my daughter hi!!! :-)
